Chain Drives Market – Global Outlook and Forecast 2017 – 2022

Conveyor chain drives are used in a wide range of industrial applications to move, carry, slide, push, and pull a variety of materials. These chain drives are used to move objects directly by attaching frames, pockets, buckets or meshes to the chains and also be indirectly used for turning rollers, which, in turn, move the conveyor chain drives. Conveyor chain drives are used to transport materials as rollers can support weight and also can be used to support the weight of the chain when the transmitting power is over long distances.

The chains used in conveyor belts are called as block chains, which consist of solid or laminated blocks connected by side plates and pins. The blocks engage with the teeth on the sprocket wheels and depending upon the material being moved, hooks, buckets and other devices are connected to the blocks.

Conveyor chain drives are available in different versions to move the product horizontally, vertically or even around curved radii. These chains include extended plates or pins with tabs onto which parts or product holding shoes can bolt. Some of the common version of these chains include single-pitch attachment chain, curved-attachment chain, hollow-pin chain, and plastic-sleeve chain. These attachments allow to put special fixtures or blocks onto the chain to serve specific conveyor functions. One of the subtype of conveyor chain drives is the accumulating conveyor which stops the discrete products even while the chain is still moving, with minimal friction and wear. Accumulating conveyor chain drives are mainly used in assembly lines which have products that ride through several stations. These chains have applications in many industries, which include automotive, food and beverage and consumer-products industries and also provide custom-made attachments on the chain-based accumulator conveyors to economically and consistently move.
