• In June 2021, the Norwegian data center industry announced the establishment of Norsk Datasenterindustri (Norwegian Data Center Industry), an industry association to strengthen the data center industry in Norway. The association includes data center operators, including Digiplex and Green Mountain, and power companies, such as Ringerikskraft and Statkraft. It will come under the umbrella of IKT-Norge. 
• Local data center companies dominate the Norway data center market. However, with the government keen to project the country as a global investment location, the market expects to grow significantly in the upcoming years. Norway is an ideal location to establish data centers for High-Performance Computing (HPC) and to run AI-based applications.​ 

• Wholesale colocation is majorly adopted by companies in Norway, accounting for over 80% of the market, with retail colocation accounting for the rest. The rising migration of on-premise infrastructure to colocation from local enterprises is aiding in the strong growth of colocation services in Norway.
